We stopped in Boston over July 4th weekend before heading to Maine for vacation. So much excitement for our Boston best: Erica & Thor have purchased their first condo and Melanie & Rob are due any day with a baby girl. We hung out on E&T's new roofdeck to celebrate the good news. Wish we were closer to enjoy the day to day, but at least we had a nice visit together, with many more to come.

Moms Group Play Date
Amidst our beach days last weekend we met up with my Moms Group gal pals for a picnic at the Park Chalet near Ocean Beach. It was our first time there and it was a perfect spot to let the kiddos run around outside while we ate and drank. Now that they're mobile eating out is not so much fun. Places like this are a godsend.
Beach Days
Last weekend was warm, sunny and perfect. We went to the beach three times in two days. We are spoiled to have gorgeous beaches that are so accessible -- a 15 minute car ride makes the beach as easy as a trip to the playground. Lucky ducks!

Happy Father's Day!
We're making the West Point Inn FD hike a tradition. It's a beautiful hike about an hour up Mt. Tam and the WPI serves a full pancake breakfast. What could be better? It's really heartwarming to see all of the families enjoying breakfast together in such a gorgeous location. Dash charmed our picnic table neighbors and even shared his breakfast with them. Too cute.

Obsession
Dash is completely obsessed with balls. He wakes up asking for a ball. He runs around the house with his hands turned up and a quizzical look on his face trying to find a ball. He unearths every ball that resides in any corner of our house and leaves them strewn about. When we're walking around town he will spot one from far off well before we catch a glimpse of it. The funniest part about this recent obsession is the way Dash says ball. I joke that he sounds like a native southerner, pronouncing it "baaawwwwllll" ... pretty funny.
On our trip to Napa last weekend we discovered that he can be entertained for a good 30 minutes by putting him in the shower with the balls. We'll have to try that trick at home.

Up Close and Personal at the Zoo
Our Memorial Day Monday was packed with fun times. We were up and at 'em early and managed to hit the beach for a run with the whole family (Caper's favorite activity), followed by a trip to the zoo and a stop at the garden center, all before 11am. While Dash was napping this afternoon Ben made a super yummy pasta sauce and I whipped up a fabu chocolate cake. All the elements of a great day!
